Not all of them were ignorant of the mechanism behind Clairvoyance; one of them, in fact, was a childhood friend who knew all about it.

“Come on, Miki… You’re doing it just like you used to!”

“Huh? What’s he doing ‘just like he used to’?” Mizuki asked Erika. She’d been muttering something to herself intently.

Erika gave her a vague answer as her mind sunk deeper into her own world. She understood what Mikihiko had just done. Her relationship with him was deeper than she let on, and frankly, deeper than she told herself it was.

Sense Synchronization was by no means a simple technique, but back before the accident, the “boy genius” Mikihiko could do it as easily as breathing. But ever since the accident, he’d never been able to use magic this smoothly.

Huh… His scars have already healed. Sometimes she would hear sentimental lines like “Physical wounds heal, but mental ones never do,” but in real life there were physical wounds that would heal and ones that wouldn’t.
